It's great to be back in action pre race trading after over month away, and testing the water last night at Wolvs I found a good opportunity to capitalize. Not an Earth shattering profit overall, but the challenge is back on and I'm aiming to use both active trading methods to push on to the £1000 asap.
The Betfair Trading Guide V3 is due to be published at the end of this month/bank holiday Monday, which includes more refinements to the processes, and additional information for beginners.
I'll keep this post brief as I want to begin adding more progress from my pre race trading, and focus on the trades themselves in the blogs going forward.
In this first trade for a while I was able to capitalize on some market interest for Grecian Spirit, which was predicted to give the favourite a good run and was in with a strong chance.
The price initially was anticipated to drop more than it did, but I was pleased to be able to hedge for a decent percentage return a couple of minutes before they ran.
Then we had a huge delay due to an issue with a loose horse, so I went back in to trade as I was watching on my second screen, and I did lay some money on Martineo as it had some problem entering the stalls, but in hindsight I'd have been better leaving this and focusing on the one back to lay trade I gained my hedged profit.
As the race got closer to jumping I took the profit of £4.72 and greened up, as the prices were jumping due to a lot of none runners because of the delay getting started, as you can see from the final list of depleted horses below, and the time to start showing in red.

I'm presently testing an in play betting method that can be applied as an in play trade, and it may end up being a better option than straight betting by the time I've finished putting it through its paces.
